Bookings

Bookings should be made in writing to info@topicelandtours.com  and include the following information:

  • Lead traveler: Full name, Phone number, and Email address
  • Number of people in a group
  • Number and type of rooms
  • Arrival and departure dates (arrival & departure times of flights)
  • Ages of any traveling children
  • Other services included

Confirmations

When we confirm, we mention which services are included, the price, and which currency is used as a reference. This applies to both individual bookings and organized tours. We request a deposit payment upon confirmation. Prices for lodging (if included in the tour) and currency may change without prior notice. A fully paid reservation will not change in price.

Flexible Policy for Cancellations and Refunds

Top Iceland day tours are fully refundable until one day before the tour starting date. You will receive a full refund of the tour price:

  • If you cancel a booking before the start of the tour for any reason. Please note you will not receive any refund if you do not cancel the tour and do not show up. Also, timing is calculated following the time zone of the tour;
  • If Top Iceland cancels the tour;
  • If You cannot take the tour because of an unforeseeable event out of your control (“Unforeseeable Events”).

Refunds will be sent back to the original payment method used in making the booking. Depending on the bank’s processing time, the refunds can take seven business days to reflect in your bank account or card balance.

Top-Iceland is not responsible for any incidental expenses you and any other participant may have directly or indirectly incurred due to a tour booking. These expenses include but are not limited to the cost of visas, accommodation, vehicle rental, vaccinations, flights, and loss of enjoyment.
You may also choose to reschedule the tour or take a credit towards a future booking in any cancellation event instead of receiving a refund.

Unforeseeable Events

Determining what constitutes Unforeseeable Events is at the discretion of Top Iceland. The following is a list of examples of Unforeseeable Events:
(a) impersonal events that make it dangerous or impossible to safely undertake a tour, such as travel restrictions imposed by governments, epidemic disease unusual to an area, war, civil insurrection, strike, extreme weather, earthquake, and natural disaster;
(b) a ship that is unable to dock for whatever reasons when a shore excursion tour has been booked;
(c) a “Do Not Travel” an advisory issued by the government departments after a booking is made; and
(d) the death or severe illness and injury of a tour participant.

We may require you to provide verification and documentation to confirm that you could not take your tour if you request a refund under this provision. You may check with Top Iceland that an event is an Unforeseeable Event and that you can provide the required documentation before you cancel any booking.

Non-Recoverable Expenses and Reimbursements to Top-Iceland

Top Iceland may hold from the refund the reimbursement for any non-recoverable expenses in preparation for any tour canceled. Such expenses shall be identified and informed in the tour description. Amounts not informed in the tour description and budgeted for the tour but not spent, such as fuel, entrance fees not purchased in advance, meals, or any other avoidable expenses, will not be reimbursed. Top Iceland will leave the canceled tour date available on the online calendar. Any remittance for non-recoverable expenses will not be remitted until after the original tour date.

Amendments

Top Iceland may occasionally modify and amend this cancellation policy at its sole discretion. Top Iceland will notify you by posting such changes on the site.

Cancellations for Activities (Optional Extras):

Please note that other local operators’ Activities (Optional Extras) are additional products and may have different cancellation conditions depending on the service provider. During the online booking process of Activities, you will be presented with each operator’s terms and conditions.

Children 

  • Children under two years of age stay free of charge when sharing a room with their parents. Accommodation for children can be in extra beds or mattresses.
  • Children staying in a separate room pay the full room price.
  • When one adult travels with one child, we charge the full double room price.

Price change

Prices may change without notice concerning currency fluctuation, inflation, government taxes (including VAT), or any other cost increases outside Top Iceland Tours’ control. Top Iceland furthermore reserves the right to correct any bookings placed at an incorrect price due to error.

Payments

After confirming the tour details, we ask you to make an advance payment of 20% or full payment of the total cost of the tour. Final payment is to be made not later than two weeks before the tour start date. Payment can be made by credit card or bank transfer to:

Liability

Top Iceland Tours cannot be held responsible for the acts, defaults, or delays of any agent, hotel, coach, operator, airline, guide, restaurant, or any other persons or companies, however caused. Top Iceland Tours is not responsible for losses in the event of force majors, such as natural catastrophes, strikes, or other corresponding causes. We also reserve the right to alter routes due to road or weather conditions without prior notice. In the rare cases of a double booking or a good reason for moving the guest, we reserve the right to provide similar accommodation or better in the same area.
